Join us for meditative, non-traditional services, including Taize, centering prayer and Iona-style worship. Currently, we are offering Taize service on Sunday nights at 7 p.m. Services are always held at the student center! For the summer months, Taize worship takes place every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The services begin at 2pm and are short and contemplative, in order to accomodate class and work schedules.
Enjoy a $1 home-cooked meal and good conversation on Wednesdays at 7 p.m. at the center. Some nights we have a speaker, other nights we play games or discuss real-life issues - sometimes we even watch movies. We always provide a vegan or a vegetarian option for supper. All are welcome. Bring a canned food or new toiletry item to supper and get your meal free! We donate collected items to Gainesville Community Ministry.
Enjoy a beer with us at Stubbie Shirt Pub, one of Gainesville's coolest little pubs. Every Tuesday at 8 p.m., we tackle a different moral, theological or societal topic. All opinions are welcome and critical thinking is encouraged. Check out our TOT blog at gainesvilletheologyontap.org!
Join us on occasional Wednesday or Friday nights for a great movie, delicious snacks and excellent conversation!
A mind-expanding discussion of selected Bible passages and other readings. Ours is radically different in content, form and purpose from any other Bible study you'll find. Our most popular series was called All God's Children. We took a look at those classes of people who have been historically disenfranchised by our society and our churches. Our topics included Homosexuality, Homelessness, Racism, and Women's Rights. Students interested in organizing Bible study should contact David, the center director, at david@pdcsc.org!
